You are the expertof your own life.
Hi. I'm so glad you found your way here. I'm Annette — a Certified Integrative Health & Wellness Coach for women. I've spent fifteen years learning this work, and I built this practice for women who are ready to feel like themselves again.
IIN-trained (2009), certified through the NBHWC and ICF accredited A Wellness Revolution program (2026), and a Certified Art Therapy Practitioner (2024). My work leans into positive psychology: I partner with women on meaning, values, self-trust, and the quiet work of actually flourishing — not just holding it together.
Coaching with empathy, compassion, and confidentiality — unhurried, honest, and a bit of a relief from the wellness noise.

My story
It started at IIN in 2009 — live classes in New York City with Dr. Mark Hyman, Dr. John Douillard, Andrew Weil, and Sally Fallon Morell. A foundation in integrative nutrition and whole-life wellness that shaped how I think about health to this day.
Then life happened. I took a hiatus to focus on family, and never stopped learning. I became a Certified Art Therapy Practitioner. I worked at a functional medicine facility. And along the way I learned, from my own body, how burnout caused by emotional stress has profound effects — the kind you carry for years before you name it.
When I became an empty nester, my passion for coaching came fully back into focus. I recommitted — enrolling in A Wellness Revolution, an NBHWC and ICF accredited program, to earn an additional certification as an Integrative Health & Wellness Coach. I'm now completing the coaching hours required to sit for the NBHWC board exam and the ICF Associate Certified Coach credential.
Why I focus on women
Because so many of the women I know have quietly become experts at holding everyone else together — and forgotten how to hear themselves in the noise. They're smart, capable, and doing all the right things, but somewhere along the way the thread got lost. The version of their life that looks fine on paper doesn't quite feel like theirs anymore.
That's where coaching earns its keep. Not to fix you — you're not broken — but to walk with you as you get honest about what you actually want, what you value, and what a life that fits you looks like from here. Quiet, unhurried, and yours.
How I coach
With empathy, compassion, and confidentiality. Coaching is your space to nurture your physical, emotional, and spiritual wellbeing without being fixed, judged, or handed a template. I'm a non-judgmental partner — and part of the work is helping you notice what you already know.
You are the expert of your life. You have the capacity to make the changes you're circling. What you may need isn't another plan — it's a coach who can walk it with you.
The methodology
The frameworks I coach with
Not wellness trends — the evidence-based frameworks I was trained in through my NBHWC and ICF accredited program and use in every session.
Positive psychology
Seligman, Csikszentmihalyi, and the flourishing literature
The scientific study of what actually helps people thrive — meaning, engagement, positive emotion, relationships, accomplishment. My coaching is anchored in this frame: not diagnosing what's wrong with you, but building on what's already alive and true about you.
Bio-individuality
IIN foundational concept
No two lives look the same. There is no one-size-fits-all path to a good life. Every plan I build starts from your history, your values, your season, and the specific shape of your days — never from a template.
Primary and secondary food
IIN foundational concept
What you eat is secondary food. Everything else that nourishes you — relationships, career, meaning, movement, rest, spirituality, the shape of your day — is primary food. When primary food is off, secondary food rarely fixes it. Both belong in the coaching.
Motivational Interviewing
Miller & Rollnick · Guilford Press, 2023
A client-centered, evidence-based method for exploring and resolving ambivalence about change. Sessions use MI's spirit (partnership, acceptance, compassion, evocation) and change talk that draws on your own reasons for change — the mechanism research consistently links to durable behavior change.
Transtheoretical Model of Change
Prochaska & DiClemente
Also called the Stages of Change. Coaching meets you where you actually are — precontemplation, contemplation, preparation, action, maintenance, or termination — with the specific strategies research shows are most effective at each stage.
Appreciative Inquiry
Strengths-based coaching
A framework built on the premise that lasting change grows out of what's already working. We start by naming your strengths, past wins, and existing resources — then design change from that base. Coaching that energizes instead of exhausts.
Neuroplasticity & habit formation
Applied behavioral neuroscience
Small, repeatable actions layered into your existing day. Over weeks and months, they physically reshape neural pathways — the biological substrate of habits that stick without white-knuckling.
Art therapy (when it fits)
Scholistico certified
For clients drawn to it, coaching can include creative-therapeutic practices — mindful making, visual journaling, symbolic exploration. Not required, but available.
Scope of practice
What integrative coaching is — and what it isn't
Clarity on scope is what makes coaching safely integrable with your medical team.
What I do
- · Partner with you on self-determined goals for your life
- · Use Motivational Interviewing to evoke your own reasons for change
- · Coach around primary food: meaning, relationships, movement, rest, mindset
- · Help you build habits that actually fit your life
- · Share evidence-based tools from positive psychology and behavior change research
- · Support you in implementing plans from your existing healthcare team
- · Offer creative-therapeutic tools (art therapy) when it fits
What I don't do
- · Diagnose or interpret medical conditions or lab results
- · Prescribe, de-prescribe, or recommend supplements
- · Provide medical nutrition therapy or prescriptive meal plans
- · Provide exercise prescription or physical therapy
- · Deliver psychotherapy or mental health treatment
- · Replace your physician, RD, therapist, or specialist
I coach under the NBHWC and ICF ethical frameworks — client confidentiality, informed consent, professional boundaries, and the responsibility to refer when a client's needs fall outside my scope. See the NBHWC Scope of Practice for the full framework.
