How coaching feels

The three parts of our work together

Not a program you have to complete. A rhythm we'll cycle through — at your pace, in the order the work asks for.

01

Build self-awareness

Notice what's actually going on — strengths, patterns, hopes for what health looks like for you. Nothing shifts before this.

02

Take action steps

Client-driven cycles of small, agreed-on next steps. Strengthen what's working, address what isn't, and stay with it long enough for change to hold.

03

Monitor & recognize

Track what's shifting, adjust the scale of change, keep the goals honest, and name the wins as they arrive — because they will.

What clients tend to notice

  • Recognizing your own strengths
  • Using those strengths to reach goals
  • A quiet, steady belief in yourself
  • A plan you actually feel good about sticking with

Anatomy of a session

Check-in & wins

Appreciative-inquiry framing — the hour builds on your existing momentum first.

MI-guided exploration of what's on your mind. Reflection, powerful questions, change talk.

Action plan

SMART next steps, tracking method, and a written summary — matched to your stage of change.

The arc

What compounds over time

A single session shifts what you know. Real behavior change happens across a series.

Session 1

Discovery & vision

Full intake — where you are, what matters to you, what’s in the way, and the change you actually want. First focus areas identified together.

Sessions 2–4

Foundations & momentum

Small experiments layered into your existing life. First shifts in clarity, energy, and how your day-to-day actually feels often appear here.

Sessions 5–8

Refinement & depth

The obvious levers are pulled — we go deeper. Values, self-trust, boundaries, and the patterns that quietly repeat.

Sessions 9+

Maintenance & mastery

The TTM calls this maintenance — where the goal shifts from building the practice to protecting it through the disruptions life produces.

FAQ

Common questions

How is this different from therapy?
Therapy generally works with clinical concerns, diagnosis, and the past. Coaching is a forward-facing partnership on self-directed change — getting clearer on what you want and taking sustainable steps toward it. It complements therapy rather than replacing it, and I refer out when what you need is clinical support.
Can I book a single session, or do I need a package?
You can book a single 60-minute session. That said, behavior change is compound work — decades of research on the Transtheoretical Model consistently show meaningful movement usually takes a series. Packages exist for that reason (and save meaningfully per session). Credits never expire.
What kinds of results do clients see?
It depends on the person, the goal, and the starting point. Common patterns clients report: more clarity on what actually matters to them, more confidence in their own choices, steadier energy through the day, and a real sense of direction in their life. This isn’t a clinical claim — coaching is a behavior-change partnership, not a treatment. Your outcomes depend on the work you put in.
What if I’ve never worked with a coach before?
Most of my clients haven’t. Coaching isn’t therapy, it isn’t medical care, and it isn’t advice-giving — it’s a structured partnership where you set the direction and I bring the methodology, accountability, and a well-defined body of research. The free 15-minute chat is the easiest way to see how it feels.
Do you work with women outside the US?
Yes. Sessions are on video, so location doesn’t matter as long as we can align on scheduling. Coaching is not the practice of medicine and is generally permitted globally, but if you’re coordinating with local medical care, they’ll be your primary reference on jurisdiction-specific questions.
What if I need to reschedule?
You can reschedule from your booking dashboard up to 24 hours before your session. Life happens — we’ll work it out.
Can I recommend a partner, friend, or family member?
Absolutely — women who come through referral are often the best fit. Send them to the free 15-minute chat as the starting point.
Is coaching covered by insurance, HSA, or FSA?
Coverage varies. Health coaching is increasingly recognized by HSA/FSA programs and some employer wellness benefits — you’ll want to check with your plan directly. I’m happy to provide a paid invoice for submission.

Coaching, not medical care

As a certified coach, I do not diagnose, prescribe, recommend supplements, provide medical nutrition therapy, or deliver mental health treatment. Coaching works alongside your existing medical team — and part of my job is knowing when to refer out. See the NBHWC Scope of Practice for the full framework.
